Bacon!
I received a microwave bacon cooker this week to try. I like trying new products, and I thought this one would be really neat because it’s a new invention. I was also excited about trying this because I hate to cook bacon, because of the splattering.
When my husband saw me take it out of the box, he said it looked just like a water pitcher that you get in a hospital. Externally I can understand why he said that, but internally it’s completely different. See, this is a totally enclosed unit, and according to the manufacturer the only one of it’s kind on the market. It came with instructions but it was pretty easy to use without them.
We cooked a package of Oscar Mayer and it came out delicious, and not greasy at all. That’s because all of the grease collects at the bottom of the pitcher. One suggestion hubby made is that they make a bigger model. We have a family of four and we weren’t able to eat our bacon all together because each batch is six pieces and nobody likes cold bacon so nobody waited for anybody else. The cooker is neat. I’m considering separating a pound of bacon and freezing it in individual packages, and then taking them out the night before so my son could have bacon for breakfast. This cooks the bacon quickly enough that now bacon on a busy weekday morning is possible.
