A new way to feed your domain habit

When I wanted to start up my niche blogs I looked at domain names for weeks. You may have noticed that many of the really good names are taken. Today I learned of a tool that Network Solutions has made available that allows people to create a custom rss feed for expired domains. I would think a tool like this would be really helpful for someone looking for a certain type of name that hasn’t found it yet. I tried it out and was pleased to find it was very easy to use.

It’s easy to start creating your own feed for expired domains. Once you arrive on the page enter the keywords you are interested in, entering one per line separated by commas. Then adjust your settings. You have options to create a feed containing, starting with, ending with or matching the keyword you specified. Then specify if you want the feed to search expired domains, or domains that have expired within the last 10, 20 or 30 days. Decide if you want domain names with hyphens or numbers included in your results. Select which top level extensions you want the feed to search. There is also an option for you to specify the maximum number of characters that are in your results. Now that you’ve finished configuring the feed, click search. When the screen refreshes, you will see an url that you can add to your feed reader. The resulting link also tells you how many domain names fit your specifications and confirms the timeframe that it searched.

At the rate people buy, sell, add and drop domains it isn’t possible to keep up with it all manually. If you’re looking for something specific, adding it to your feed reader could save you a lot of time. No matter if you have a hobby of buying domains or if you’re just considering picking up another one and are looking for just the right one, check this neat tool out.

I have never used this service but I’ve used freshdrop.net which sounds similar. These tools are amazing at finding some great domains, plus there are ones that are aged and have real PR.
