Wii forgot something
We had a nice Christmas. Sort of a comedy of errors, but nice.
Christmas error 1. It started on Christmas morning. My parents and two brothers came over to watch my kids open their gifts. Now we knew Santa was giving my older son a wii and my younger son a SmartCycle. As the kids opened, my son opened a wii game and said well this must be someone else’s. Me and the hubby looked at each other and thought he must have grabbed one out of order. This was at the same time my younger son was ripping the paper off of a SmartCycle game. It was at that moment that we realized the wii and the SmartCycle were not actually under the tree. Time for me to go to the bathroom to blow my nose. I returned carrying the SmartCycle with a rather lame excuse that it had been on the other side of the room. Hidden behind it was the wrapped wii. I placed the SmartCycle down on my younger son’s side of the tree and made a production out of something so my husband could move the wii while my older son’s attention was elsewhere. Whew. That was close.
As it turns out, you need a bit of room to play with a wii. So we had a family meeting and decided my older son’s bed would be put into my younger son’s room. They have bunkbeds, so we were going to put the bunks back together. My older sons room would remain his but would be more of a playroom, or a lounge as he calls it. So Christmas night he and my older son spent a couple of hours rearranging and moving the bed and his worn out old mattress and then cleaning and vacuuming the room and connecting the wii.
We have to get up for basketball practice in the morning so I’ll write some more about our Christmas tomorrow. Stay tuned.
