What would YOU name this?

Some of you may have realized that I write some sponsored posts for Pay Per Post (PPP for short in this article). For a while now they’ve been talking about Argus. Argus is the next control panel PPP will be using. They’ve kept most of the details under wrap, but have claimed it will be the next disruptor to hit blogging since PPP did. Ok, that doesn’t tell anyone much, so keep reading.
The PPP blog tells us Argus will be advertiser friendly. Advertiser will have access to better information and reports, including blog profiles, traffic segmentation and reporting.
More opportunities for blog monetization is promised to bloggers.
That’s some highlights of what we know.
Today a request came from Ted at PPP that they’d like help renaming Argus. I quote here a portion of the request, which can be seen on the PPP blog in entirety.
“Argus isn’t just an upgrade to PayPerPost.com. It is a completely new concept that is radically different approach than our current model. So radical in fact that the name PayPerPost fails to accurately portray what this new offering represents. Sure, sponsored posts will be part of this new offering, but Argus is so much more than sponsored posts. Advertisers and Bloggers will interact in a whole new way in Argus. Heck, Bloggers can be Advertisers and vice versa under the same account. The tools we will provide for buzz building, traffic generation, ranking, social interaction, transparency, disclosure and analysis of campaigns will be unprecedented. Put simply you won’t recognize this system when we launch it. The structure of the new marketplace will be completely foreign to all current PayPerPost users. For these reasons we have decided to launch Argus under a new name and new domain. ”
Then the following four domain names are offered for consideration:

1. bzzooka.com
2. wompow.com
3. tremblor.com
4. cloudshout.com

Here’s my thoughts on this whole thing. (Yep, you’ve been waiting for this since my first word, haven’t you?)

Ted, those four names suck. They don’t mean anything and I can’t see them as identifying a brand. Their spelling is so poor they will be easy to get wrong when being typed in. How will people relate what the company does to any of those?
If PPP doesn’t portray the offering then changing the name makes sense. This won’t be the first company to rebrand themselves. A new concept that is radically different deserves a radical name. Why not go with RadicalBlogging.com orĀ  RadicalMarketplace.com?
The opportunity for advertisers and bloggers to interact in a whole new way will be there. Why not call it InteractiveBlogMarketing.com? You’re describing a whole new breed of marketing. Guess what? AWholeNewBreedOfMarketing.com is available!
If the tools will be unprecedented, what about UnprecedentedBlogging.com?
The blogging marketplace at PPP is going to now be foreign to everyone. You’re touting it as unrecognizable to current posties. And anyone who wasn’t involved with PPP in some way before won’t recognize it either. So why not ArgusMarketplace.com, or the one that makes me smile ArgusCountry.com. I’m thinking if it’s unrecognizable and foreign it will be like a place nobody ever visited, complete with its own rules, just like any country has. I actually envision it as an island, with citizens and visitors.
My final thought on the matter is GetBlArketing.com. It’s for Get Blog Marketing.
FYI, all the domain names I mentioned are available as of 9pm est.
There you have it. You now know what the woman who knows everything thinks.
Gotta run. Suddenly I feel in the mood to buy another domain name.
