I already wear something on my right ring finger. I also thought of perhaps getting the ring made smaller and wearing it on my pinky, but then thought an engagement ring might look funny there. I’m thinking saving it for my son is a better idea.

Hi! I came over from NaBloPoMo. I’m challenging myself to comment on as many blogs as possible this month.

I have a tendency to wear the jewelry that means the most to me. (Which, consequently, means I don’t wear any at the moment.) My mom, though, wears her first husband’s wedding band on her right hand (he died tragically when they were newlyweds) and her more current jewelry on her left.

For our 15th anniversary my husband bought me a new wedding band to “replace” my original ring. I couldn’t bare the thought of not wearing my original so I moved it over to my right hand.

He isn’t worried I don’t wear it at all. I do cherish it, that’s why I wish I could do something with it. It’s only teeny chips, so I can’t have it made into something else. I guess I’ll save it for our first grandchild.

I am a single guy, but if I were married I would hope my wife would cherish the ring as a momento even if she didn’t wear it. It isn’t the ring you married, its the man – so I’m sure he isn’t worried that you don’t wear it.
