Take advantage of free online auto insurance quotes

We live in New Jersey, a state where residents pay more for auto insurance than residents of any other state. As of September 2007 our rates are 43% higher than the national average, according to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
Every two years or so I reprice our auto insurance to make sure we are getting the best rate possible. When I decide to start getting quotes from different companies to see if I can get a better auto insurance rate, I have to make a lot of repetitive telephone calls asking for the quotes and giving our information. Some companies won’t quote over the phone, so then I have paperwork to fill out as well. I do not enjoy doing this but since auto insurance is so expensive I have to be sure we’re getting the best deal.
I tried a site today that offers insurance quotes online. It was pretty simple and asked for the same information usually requested. The advantage of this site over my phone calls is this site goes out to a number of carriers to try and get the best rate possible. They have some tips and information on lowering your rates as well.
