Review of Smart Snacks Animal Crack Ups

Today when I got home I sat with my youngest son and played with a new game, Smart Snacks Animal Crack Ups. The game is made by Learning Resources, a company that specializes in educational toys. Animal Crack Ups contains ten different animals, each made of two puzzle pieces. The pieces felt very sturdy, and were made of a washable plastic.  They were solid enough and big enough that a child could easily hold one.  My youngest son and I took the pieces apart, and I asked my son to help me match the pieces back together. He was able to easily put some together. There were a few that in his excitement he rushed and didn’t check the colors. That’s how he ended up with a  sheep’s head on a pig’s body. I’m not sure if that would be called a peep or a shig. The game will be great for encouraging vocabulary, matching, animal recognition and sounds and color recognition.  We had fun spending the time together and I really think he enjoyed the puzzle.
