Independent speech eval recommended
I took my youngest son on Thursday to a developmental pediatrician. We’d been on a waiting list to see her for a long time. She spent almost two hours with us. She spoke with me while my son played, and then she sat with my son and asked him to do simple things. I felt very encouraged when she told me she didn’t agree with the school on a number of things. She first wants him to have an independent speech evaluation, because she thinks the school evaluation is way off. Expecting to have to wait months, I was surprised when we were offered an appointment in two weeks for the eval. I will have just returned to work and won’t easily be able to miss much time from work so I called my Mom, the travelpro, to be sure she was not away on that date and can take him.
