Give thought on what to do with old cars.
I used to have a 1988 Mustang convertible. A while after I had my first son I took it off the road, with thoughts of using it down the road. It needed some work and we didn’t have the money, and the longer it sat out in the side yard the worse it got. So we found a childrens charity about an hour away and donated the car. I know there are a number of times that cars end up in the junk yard, I see them in yards and driveways. I know that there are many other people out there that think they’ll restore or repair a car and never get to it. Today I learned of another charity that accepts car donations. Car Angel accepts car and boat donations and uses the proceeds to create anti drug videos and promote prison reform and prisoner literacy. They also help fund the creation of the award winning Donkey Ollie videos offered free to preschool and early grade school children. I realized years ago and still believe that if you have a vehicle just sitting wasting away and you’re considering sending it to the junkyard that donating the car to charity is a good idea. Car Angel will arrange for the car to be picked up and give you a receipt. Car donations are possible tax deductions, which can benefit you. And the donated cars can be put to use to benefit our society, which is good for our country. It would be wonderful if we as a people put our unused resources to work to help solve problems at home like homelessness, hunger and illiteracy.
