Do you mail Christmas cards?

For those of you that mail Christmas cards out every year, how far in advance do you mail them? Ideally I like to mail them before the middle of December. This year I was a bit off my schedule. I sent my cards out to some fellow bloggers and some fellow Surpass customers about two weeks ago. But I didn’t even buy our personal cards until earlier this week. I printed the address labels Thursday morning at 4am and signed the cards at that point. I came right home from work that afternoon so I could affix the stamps and address labels. I drove into my neighborhood, expecting to see all of the mailboxes with their flags up like I have for the past two weeks. Instead I saw the mailman, two blocks from finishing the neighborhood. I ran into the house and grabbed the cards and got back in the car. Like a mad woman I started sticking stamps and address labels on, and finished the pile just before the mailman got to the end of the last block. Oh no! I had not put return address labels on. Oh well. I gave them to him anyway, explaining I really wanted them to get to their destinations before Christmas so they’d have to go without a return address. Whew! Hopefully the cards will be delivered in time.
