Digital cameras
I have an Olympus D-360L digital camera. It’s old, probably about 5 years old. It still works well, but the quality of the pictures is in line with what you’d expect from an entry level camera of 5 years ago.
My son has a Kodak Easyshare C530, courtesy of my parents. I like the quality of the pictures. I do not like the way the body is made, specifically the battery compartment. Recently, I picked up the camera and noticed the battery compartment door on the bottom had cracked and actually broken into 2 pieces. This camera isn’t even a year old and it has not been mishandled. If I were buying myself a new digital camera I would still want one of what I consider to be the best brands – Olympus, Sony, Nikon.
I love taking a digital camera when we go somewhere. You can get a quality picture without having to wait and spend more money on developing. I also think pictures are much easier to store and keep safe. Think about it. Burn all your photos onto cds and keep them in a fireproof box.
I’ve really been wanting a new video camera. I decided I want a mini-dv camera. I know the dvd cameras are the in thing, but since I have already decided my next major purchase will be a Macbook Pro which has a slot loading dvd player that would render the mini dvds useless. So I can save money and get a nice mini-dv camcorder and transfer via firewire. I’ve been reading up on some Canon cameras as well as some Sony and JVC models.
