After we finish spring cleaning, people usually feel really good about tjemselves, the job they did and the outcome that resulted. That doesn’t mean that people want to spend ages doing the cleaning though. It can be very easy to rush to finish and make some pretty common mistakes. By being aware of what the most commonly made mistakes are, you are more likely to avoid them. So, keep these things in mind when you are starting your cleaning.
Going Too Fast
When you rush through something, whether it nbe spring cleaning or something else, you will frequently regret it later. Spring cleaning is a big job and it doesn’t pay to rush it. Take your time and make sure you do things right, as this will prevent you from having to spend more time correcting mistakes later.
Going Too Slow
It is always good to take your time, but it is equally important not to dawdle. If you don’t stick to some sort of time table or schedule, you may become discouraged if you don’t see as much progress as you’d like. Keep yourself motivated. Seeing the progress you make while you’re working will help propel you to do continue and do more.
Doing It Alone
Spring cleaning does not have to be a solo project. If there is help available be sure to take it. Make individual lists for any family members taking part, putting their time and skills to work where they will be most useful. If you live alone, consider asking another single friend if they’d be willing to work with you as a team and the two of you can tackle one home at a time.
Spring cleaning is time-consuming, but it is not technically difficult.Work from the task lists you made. If you stick to those you are less likely to get distracted or sidetracked and lose valuable time.
Finishing the project is the job at hand and you obviously want to get the job done well. Getting the job done right is often most easily accomplished by sticking to the basics. Don’t buy unneccessary gadgets, cleaners or equipment that you don’t absolutely need or that wont be worth the money they cost for the value they provide.
There aren’t many things more annoying than getting motivated and going to start a project only to discover that you don’t have the items you need to complete your task. Make a list at the beginning of the tasks you have planned for the day every morning (or sooner if possible) and determine what supplies are necessary to complete them. Go to the store and pick up any items you need so that you have everything on hand and you can get right to work when the time comes.
Spring cleaning has the potential to make the space you live in more pleasant and enjoyable. Being organized improves your mental and emotional health. Avoid making unnecessary mistakes such as the ones above so that you are able to complete your tasks in the most efficient manner possible.
