Planes: Fire & Rescue Features Adventure Inspired by this Summer’s New Movie, while Violetta Offers Immersive Musical Experience Based on Disney Channel’s Hit Tween Telenovela

Santa Ana, CA. – April 17, 2014 –Little Orbit announced today it is working with Disney Interactive to bring Planes: Fire & Rescue, based on Disney’s highly anticipated feature film of the same name, to North America, Europe and Australasia on Nintendo Wii™, Nintendo 3DS™ and DS™ this fall. The collaboration also includes the launch of a Violetta video game based on the successful tween telenovela, Violetta, from Disney Channel. The musical rhythm game will launch across European territories and in South America for Nintendo Wii™, Nintendo 3DS™ and DS™ this summer.

“Teaming up with Disney Interactive to expand the worlds of Planes: Fire & Rescue and Violetta on video game platforms is a great honor for us,” said Matt Scott, CEO of Little Orbit. “We know fans are going to love seeing their favorite characters come to life in these fun-filled adventures.”

Planes: Fire & Rescue will extend the storyline of the film, taking fun to the skies with action-packed fire-fighting. Players can embark on adventures with all their favorite characters from the movie.

Violetta will take players on an all-star experience as they experiment with music and rhythm and to become a star performer. Players will collect points to unlock costumes, art and more to customize their musical experience.

Mario Golf: World Tour Lets Players Expand Their Play Options

Massive Game Allows Players to Purchase New Downloadable Courses, More Characters, More Fun

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Nintendo is offering players the opportunity to nearly double the amount of content they can play in the Mario Golf: World Tour game, which launches May 2 for the portable Nintendo 3DS system. With 10 courses and 126 holes (an amount equivalent to previous games in the franchise), extensive multiplayer modes as well as regional and worldwide tournaments, the main game offers plenty of content for golf fans already. But players who can’t get enough golf and want to expand their experiences can purchase up to a total of 108 new downloadable holes and additional Mushroom Kingdom golfers. The DLC opens up further challenging courses for players to enjoy as they test their skills (broadband Internet access is required).

“We’re letting fans expand their experience with Mario Golf: World Tour,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Some players might be content hitting the links on the numerous courses already included with the game, while others will appreciate the option of being able to add to their fairway fun with new courses and characters.”

The downloadable content for the game will be released in three separate packs: the Mushroom Pack launching on May 2, the Flower Pack launching later in May and the Star Pack launching in June. Each pack includes two new 18-hole courses and a new playable character. Players will receive Toadette with the Mushroom Pack, Nabbit with the Flower Pack and Rosalina with the Star Pack.

Each pack will be available for $5.99 from Toad’s Booth, which can be found in the main menu of the game. Mario Golf: World Tour owners who know they want to buy all three add-on packs can buy a Season Pass at a discounted rate of $14.99 starting May 2. Season Pass holders will get access to each new pack as it becomes available, and will receive a special bonus of Gold Mario as a playable character at the time of purchase. Gold Mario has a special Golden Flower shot that gains coins for every yard it travels. For those who purchase all three packs individually, Gold Mario will also be available once all packs have been released. Nintendo will also offer Trial Tournaments for consumers interested in trying out a sample of the downloadable courses before deciding to purchase. Consumers who own the game and download the Trial Pack will be able to participate in these online tournaments.

Based on a true story, sports agent JB Bernstein (Jon Hamm) finds that business has changed and things aren’t going well for his career. In a last ditch effort to save his livelihood he concocts a scheme to find baseball’s next great pitching ace. Hoping to find a young cricket pitcher he can turn into a major league baseball star, JB travels to India to produce a reality show competition called “The Million Dollar Arm.” With the help of cantankerous but eagle-eyed retired baseball scout Ray Poitevint (Alan Arkin), he discovers Dinesh (played by Madhur Mittal from “Slumdog Millionaire”) and Rinku (played by Suraj Sharma from “Life of Pi”), two 18-year-old boys who have no idea about playing baseball, yet have a knack for throwing a fastball. Hoping to sign them to major league contracts and make a quick buck, JB brings the boys home to America to train. While the Americans are definitely out of their element in India, the boys, who have never left their rural villages, are equally challenged when they come to the States. As the boys learn the finer points of baseball, JB, with the help of his charming friend Brenda (Lake Bell), learns valuable life lessons about teamwork, commitment and what it means to be a family.

Directed by Craig Gillespie from a screenplay written by Tom McCarthy, Walt Disney Pictures’ drama “Million Dollar Arm” stars Jon Hamm, Aasif Mandvi, Bill Paxton, Suraj Sharma, Lake Bell and Alan Arkin. The producers are Mark Ciardi, Gordon Gray and Joe Roth. The executive producers are Palak Patel, Kevin Halloran, Bill Simmons and Connor Schell. The film will be release in the United States on May 16, 2014.
