ABOUT DISNEY THE MUPPETS

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and Gary’s girlfriend, Mary (Amy Adams), from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze Muppet Studios and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage a telethon and raise the $10 million needed to save the studio, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.

MY THOUGHTS
I received a copy of Disney The Muppets Wocka Wocka Value Pack. I grew up with the Muppets. My kids grew up with the Muppets. This movie was for for children of all ages, and I do mean that to include adults. The story line is seriously and adult enough that it will hold interest of adults while remaining fun and light enough that it will hold the interest of the younger audience. I found myself pulling for the Muppets to raise enough money to save the old studio from being demolished for oil. how The Muppets got jack Black to be the celebrity host of their telethon cracked me up too. I enjoyed the interaction between the human and Muppets portions of the cast, the animation is terrific. Speaking of The Muppets, viewers will be familiar with most or all of them, including Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Rizzo, Rowlf, Beaker, Swedish Chef, Animal and more. The songs are fun. the only thing I wish there had been was more time for “menamana”, a funny snog that brings back a lot of fun memories for me. The Value Pack is great because not only do we have the Blu-ray for the living room and the DVD for my youngest son’s room, but we also have the digital version for the iPad, something that is great for home and travel. Also, the Wocka Wocka version has a ton of bloopers, and who doesn’t love bloopers! Disney The Muppets Wocka Wocka Value Pack is a must have for all Muppets fans young and old.
Here’s the trailer.
